The past 9 days in Beijing and Shandong was a great learning experience for all of us. I used to be fearful, and not wanting to even speak a word of Chinese. I even had doubts about going for this trip.

当我们到达了曲阜实验中学，我们的心里非常着急与兴奋。在巴士上的我们看到学生热烈地欢迎新加坡来的师生，让我们感到欣慰。对我而说，压力也增加了不少。为何我有如此想法？因为据我所知，中国的学生都很有自律，而我们新加坡学生因为生活环境上的关系、很活泼、开朗，在自律上远远不如他们。曲阜实验中学的师生为了让我们新加坡的师生见证他们升旗典礼，把每周的升旗礼（每逢星期一）延迟至我们到达的那一天（星期二）。中国学校的升旗典礼非常隆重，而新加坡学校虽然天天有升旗典礼但却简单。

When we arrived at the school in Qu Fu Experimental School in Shandong, I was amazed by their hospitality. They held flowers in their arms and banners to welcome us. They gave the flowers to our school teachers. We then took photos with them as in memories of our first time meeting with one another. We were then asked to join in their morning assembly. It was interesting as uniform group like National Cadet Corp marched in to hang the China flag up on

During this nine days trip, it allows us to appreciate our Chinese culture more than we used to. We are proud of our own Mother Tongue because we are able to communicate well with them through Mandarin. Therefore, we can see how important mandarin is to us as we can use our own language to communicate with our neighbouring countries like china.
